3

Set Budgets & Goals

Navigate to Budgets to create monthly spending limits per category. Progress bars update in real time as you add transactions.

Troubleshooting

Common issues and how to fix them.

I can't sign in / Google sign-in fails

Try the following steps in order:

  1. Ensure your device has an active internet connection.
  2. Check that Google Play Services (Android) or the device OS is up to date.
  3. Force-stop the app, clear its cache, and reopen it.
  4. If you use a work or school Google account, it may have sign-in restrictions — try a personal Google account.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall the app, then sign in again.

My data isn't syncing across devices

Expense Pro Manager uses Firebase Firestore as its single source of truth. Sync issues are almost always network-related.

  • Confirm both devices are connected to the internet.
  • Make sure you are signed in with the same Google account on all devices.
  • Pull-to-refresh on the main transaction list to force a Firestore fetch.
  • If behind a corporate firewall or VPN, try disconnecting — Firestore requires specific port access.
Recurring transactions aren't appearing

Recurring transactions are processed when you open the app on or after the scheduled due date.

  • Open the app on the day the recurrence is due (or later) — it will be posted automatically on launch.
  • The engine is idempotent: even if you open the app multiple times, the transaction is only posted once per period.
  • Go to Recurring and verify the next-due date and interval are set correctly.
  • Check that the associated account still exists and hasn't been deleted.
Currency amounts look wrong or imprecise

The app uses the decimal package for all arithmetic — floating-point rounding errors are not a bug here.

  • If a balance looks off, check for duplicate transactions (pull down to refresh first).
  • Currency conversion is display-only — each transaction stores its original currency and amount.
  • Exchange rates are not fetched automatically; update them manually under Settings → Currencies.
How do I export my data (CSV / Excel)?

Go to Settings → Export. You can choose CSV or Excel format. The export includes all transactions across all accounts for the selected date range, with a column-mapping step so you can match fields to your preferred spreadsheet layout.

Importing works the same way — Settings → Import — and supports the same file formats.

How do I delete my account or all my data?

All your data is scoped to your Google account in Firestore. To remove it:

  1. Go to Settings → Danger Zone → Delete all data to wipe transactions, accounts, and settings from Firestore.
  2. To also revoke app access from your Google account, visit myaccount.google.com/permissions and remove Expense Pro Manager.
